こんばんは、お元気ですか。 7回目のチャットにようこそ。
とても変化の多い今日この頃。いかにお過ごしですか。

トケイ … 今日は何教えてくれるのかな?
ウデオ … 先回に続いて特殊機能の１つ
--「トゥールビヨン」-- を
取り上げてみようかな。
トケイ … いいよ。「トゥールビヨン」て、何?!
ウデオ … フランス語で渦巻きという意味なんだ。
トケイ … へえ、それって機能と関係あるの?
ウデオ … そうなんだ。
時計をはめている人の姿勢はいつも
変化するよな。すると、当然
腕時計の向きも変わるわけだ。
そのため、どんな問題が起きて来るか
想像できるかい?
トケイ … いいえ、何が起きるの? ねえ、何、何?
ウデオ … ジャジャーン!!!
時計の誤差が生じるんだ。
トケイ … ふーーん、なるほどね。
ウデオ … そこで、フランスの
アブラアン・ルイ・ブレゲという人が
考えたんだよな…
トケイ … 何を?
ウデオ … うん、「腕時計・内部の機構を回転させて、
姿勢差を打ち消し、誤差を防ごう」ってね。
トケイ … へえー、ハムスターの回し車みたいね。
ハムスターが回し車の中で
いくら動いても、回し車が回転
してるから
ハムスターの姿勢位置が変わらないもの。
ウデオ … ハムスターが時計で、
回し車が時計の内部構造というわけか?
君の発想も相当ユニークだね。
トケイ … あら、そーお?
ウデオ … それはともかく、このトゥールビヨンは
200年以上たった今でも
ほんのわずかな職人しか作れないんだ。
その美しさと複雑な作りはファンを
魅了し続けているんだ。
トケイ … じぁあ、高いの?
ウデオ … もち。数百万するものが一般的。
でも、ここ2.3年の技術革新に感謝、感謝。
求めやすい価格のモデルが登場し始めた。
ファンにとって今がチャンスですぞ！
トケイ … それはいいことね。安心したわ。

TOKEI … Udeo, what are you gonna tell me about today?
UDEO … Why don’t we take up
one of particular functions of the watches
--- “tourbillion”?
TOKEI … OK. Well, what do you mean by that?
UDEO … It means “swirl” or “spiral” in French.
TOKEI … Does it have to do with that function?
UDEO … Yes, you’re right.
The posture of a person who is wearing
a watch varies with time. And with that,
the direction of the watch also
changes naturally.
Can you guess what will be caused with that?
TOKEI … No! Tell me what!
UDEO … Voila!! It is “the clock error”.
TOKEI … mmh,….I see.
UDEO … Well, then a Frenchman named
Abraham-Louis Breguet
came up with a great idea.・・
TOKEI … Great idea?
UDEO … Yes. He thought he might be able to
solve that problem by rotating
watch-inlaying-mechanism itself,
TOKEI … Oh, it’s just like a hamster wheel.
You know, even though a hamster
run hard in it, it’s posture will never
change because of that rotating wheel.
UDEO … You mean a hamster represents a watch and
the wheel means an inlaying-mechanism?
… mmmh … unique idea!
TOKEI … Is that?
UDEO … Anyway, even now, I mean 200 years
after Lois’ invention, only a few watchmakers
can make the watch with this particular functions.
And it has been enchanting watch fans .
TOKEI … It must be expensive, then.
UDEO … Yeah, usually it costs millions of yen.
However, Thanks to a recent technical
improvement, affordable-price-model
has arrived on the market.
TOKEI … Oh, really. That sounds nice.
Well, then, let’s meet at next 8th issue.
