Who is Clifford? /クリフォードってどんな犬？

Clifford was born in the story written by Norman Bridwell in 1963. Clifford 
was a small red puppy and Emily Elizabeth always wished him to be a big and 
strong dog. Clifford grew to be bigger than a horse, bigger than a house and 
redder than a fire engine. As one of the original characters of Scholastic,  
Clifford became the biggest and most-lovable red dog in the world. 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
１９６３年にノーマン・ブリッドウェルの絵本で誕生したひ弱な子犬は、エミリー・ 
エリザベスという心やさしい女の子に飼われることになりました。そして、「大きく 
丈夫に育ちますように」というエミリーの願い通りに、馬よりも家よりも大きく、 
消防車より赤い犬に成長しました。スカラスティックのオリジナルキャラクターと 
して、「クリフォード」は、世界中の子供たちに愛されています。
