━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NHK実践ビジネス英語を骨までしゃぶるメルマガ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ みなさん こんにちは 本多です。 ＃初めて購読された方は一番下をお読みください。 北京出張の話です。 現地の関連会社に行ったのですが、皆さん日本語が話せたので 言語の問題はありませんでした。 米国企業の日本支社に米国人が出張するとこんな感じなのでしょう。 現地（日本）の人は英語を話してくれるという。。 で、どうやって日本語の勉強したのか聞いたら、 「一生懸命勉強しました」とのこと。 私達は英語学習を果たして「一生懸命」やっているか 振り返る必要があるのかもしれません。 空き時間に北京の西北郊外にある世界遺産の頤和園（いわえん） に行きました。 ここは歴代皇帝の夏の離宮で、中心には広大な人口池と、 掘った土で作った山がありました。 万里の長城をほうふつとさせるスケールの大きさでした。 ■NHKラジオ 実践ビジネス英語 New Leadership (5) 10/15 2009 ■前回の復習です。答えは最後で first and foremost add one's two cents worth have a natural inclination to set an example take the initiative make a conscious decision to steward inspire one's colleague delegate authority ■意味を考えてみよう。今日取り上げる単語が含まれています。 It'll take me a while to learn the ropes, so please bear with me during this transition period. Many leaders try to seem larger than life and incapable of making a mistake. ────────────────────────────── Bear with me. , (私に)我慢してください、お待ちください。 ────────────────────────────── New Leadership (1)より。 If you ask someone to bear with you, you are asking them to be patient. ex) If you'll bear with me, Frank, just let me try to explain. ────────────────────────────── That goes for me too. , 私もそう思います。 ────────────────────────────── New Leadership (1)より。 If you say that a statement you have made about one person or thing also goes for another person or thing, you mean that the statement is also true of this other person or thing. ex) It is illegal to dishonour bookings; that goes for restaurants as well as customers. ────────────────────────────── elaborate, 詳しく述べる、説明する ────────────────────────────── New Leadership (3)より。 If you elaborate on something that has been said, you say more about it, or give more details. ex) Would you care to elaborate? ────────────────────────────── go with the flow, 人と同じ事をする、周囲に同調する ────────────────────────────── New Leadership (3)より。 If you go with the flow, you let things happen to you or let other people tell you want to do, rather than trying to control what happens yourself. ex) I didn't choose to become president. It was just the natural flow of things.
