━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NHK実践ビジネス英語を骨までしゃぶるメルマガ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ みなさん こんにちは 本多です。 ＃初めて購読された方は一番下をお読みください。 最近、私の本を図書館で読んでくださった方が ブログに感想を書いてくださったのですが、 ブログで、私が本に書いた音読の方法を引用しており、 久しぶりに私も見て、すっかり忘れてたことに 気づきました。 ---- 音読のおすすめメニュー（１日30分は音読する） １．まずスクリプトを見ないで１回聴いてみる。たぶん 聴き取れないので、もう２，３回聴いてみてもよい ２．英文を精読する（単語とフレーズを調べ、日本語訳 で意味を確認し、英文を完全理解 ３．（和訳があったら）日本文を１文読んで、対応する 英文を１文読む。これを最後まで繰り返す ４. オーバーラッピングを５回 ５．普通の音読を５回 ６. シャドウイングを５回 ---- 今は1回さらーーーと読むくらいかな。 ■NHKラジオ 実践ビジネス英語 Death of the Power Lunch (4) 9/16 2009 ■前回の復習です。答えは最後で pose a challenge think outside of the proverbial box stroll in the park executive roundtable meeting at the turn of the year ■意味を考えてみよう。今日取り上げる単語が含まれています。 We're just one of many companies that are forgoing splashy, lavish events as the recession bites into our profits. [FORMAL] ex) Keen skiers are happy to forgo a summer holiday to go skiing. ────────────────────────────── endear someone to, （人）が…に好かれるようにする、（人）が …に慕われるようにする ────────────────────────────── If something endears you to someone or if you endear yourself to them, you become popular with them and well liked by them. ex) Their taste for gambling has endeared them to Las Vegas casino owners. ────────────────────────────── profligate, 浪費する、金遣いの荒い ────────────────────────────── Someone who is profligate spends too much money or uses too much of something. [FORMAL] ex) the most profligate consumer of energy in the world. ────────────────────────────── keep abreast of, (時勢など)に遅れずについていく ────────────────────────────── If you keep abreast of a subject, you know all the most recent facts about it. ex) He will be keeping abreast of the news. ────────────────────────────── in-your-face, 傍若無人の、押しの強い ────────────────────────────── Someone who has an in-your-face attitude seems determined to behave in a way that is unusual or shocking, and does not care what people think of them.
