It made working with him extremely difficult and stressful, because you could never be sure he wouldn't go ballistic over one thing or another. ────────────────────────────── deal with, …に対処 [対応] する、…と取り引き [関係] する ────────────────────────────── If you deal with a person or organization, you do business with them. ex) I planned to deal with this bank for many years. ────────────────────────────── assured, 自信のある、堂々とした ────────────────────────────── Someone who is assured is very confident and relaxed. ex) He was infinitely more assured than in his more recent parliamentary appearances. ────────────────────────────── project an image, イメージを醸し出す、印象を与える ────────────────────────────── If you project someone or something in a particular way, you try to make people see them in that way. If you project a particular feeling or quality, you show it in your behaviour. ex) The initial image projected was of a caring, effective president. ────────────────────────────── not to put too fine a point on it, 率直に言うと ────────────────────────────── You say 'not to put too fine a point on it' in order to indicate that what you are about to say may sound unpleasant, unkind, or critical. [BRITISH] ex) We didn't meet. In fact, not to put too fine a point on it, I was warned off. ────────────────────────────── go ballistic over, …のことでかっとなる ────────────────────────────── If someone goes ballistic, they get extremely angry and start behaving in a very forceful or irrational way as a result.
