Both ran against Aso in the LDP election.. ７★Adding youth to the lineup was 34-year-old Yuko Obuchi, daughter of the late Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, as minister in charge of tackling the birthrate problem. ８★Obuchi is now the youngest Cabinet minister in postwar history. ９★Taking the post of chief Cabinet secretary -the prime minister's top assistant and government spokesman - is former education minister Takeo Kawamura. Kawamura, however, isn't used to dealing with the media spotlight, and some observers say he is too low-profile to fill the position at a time when an election is looming. １０★The task of announcing the new lineup usually falls to the chief Cabinet secretary, but Aso took the podium at the prime minister's office himself to make the announcement, kicking off what was seen as a new media campaign to boost his exposure before the election. １１★Former education minister Hirofumi Nakasone, son of powerful former Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone, was named foreign minister. １２★Seiko Noda, 48, who became the youngest Cabinet member when she was appointed posts and telecommunications minister at age 37, remained consumer affairs minister. １３★Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Yoichi Masuzoe and Environment Minister Tetsuo Saito of New Komeito also returned. １４★The post of education minister went to Lower House member Ryu Shionoya. １５★"The power to carry out various policies is solely in the hands of the ruling coalition, absolutely not the Democratic Party of Japan," Aso told his fellow party members in the afternoon before he was officially selected prime minister by the Diet. １６★"We will definitely win the general election and achieve our policies, and all of the (LDP) Diet members here today have the responsibility and obligation to be ready to answer to the people's trust," he said. １７★The DPJ, the largest opposition force, is also gearing up for the political battle expected to be waged within the next couple of months. １８★Ozawa made clear his strong intention to win the next general election, referring to the LDP as "the enemy." １９★"We are at the start of the final battle- the Lower House general election," Ozawa told his party Wednesday. ２０★"Let's carry the slogan that this will be the autumn that (the DPJ) achieves a change in power, that this will be the autumn that (the DPJ) seizes government power ; a problem that plagued the crew of his moderate predecessor, Yasuo Fukuda,（穏健な前任者、福田康夫氏の閣僚を苦しめた問題) / the second leader to resign in two years. （この２年でやめた二 人目の首相である） ５●Former LDP policy chief Shoichi Nakagawa, （前自民党政調会 長の中川昭一氏は）/ a close ally of Aso（麻生氏の親しい盟友で）/ who also is a right-leaning conservative, （右よりの保守派でも ある）/ was named both（両方に指名された）finance minister and financial services minister（財務相と金融相に）/ in a double appointment.（二つに使命することで） -------------------------------------------------------------- 【３】「編集後記」＜髪を切ったら＞ -------------------------------------------------------------- Kumikoです。髪を切りました！本格的な夏が近づき、首周りにまとわ りつく髪にうんざりしてきたためです。 私が通う美容院”和（なごみ）”は、家から車で30分のところにあり ます。 以前は自転車で20分走らせた市中心部の便利な場所にあったのですが、 郊外へ移転してしまいました。そんなに不便になってもそこまで髪を 切りに行くのには、理由があります。 この美容師さんは、「こちらのイメーシ通りの髪型にしてくれる」か らです。 なーんだ、そんなことか、と思った方もいらっしゃるかもしれません が、私の髪は、「多い、太い、硬い」と３拍子揃った美容師さんに嫌 われる髪質です。 そのため、こんな髪型がいいな、あんな風になりたい、と思って美容 師さんに相談しても、「お客様の髪質ですと・・・」と残念そうに言 われ、おおむね近い髪型にしてくれるのがこれまででした。 しかし今の美容師さんは違います！！私の要望を伝えると「分かりま した。」と言って、シャキシャキと髪を切り始めます。 後は任せておけば、「これよ、これ！」という私の求める髪型に仕上 がっているのです。 美容師さん曰く「髪質を理由に、お客様の要望をかなえてあげられな いのは美容師の怠慢である」と豪語します。 「できる限り、カットのみでお客様の理想の髪型に仕上げ、なおかつ 毎日の手入れが楽であるようにするのが美容師の仕事」と、自信たっ ぷりで話します。 美容室を出る瞬間は、完璧な髪型でも、翌朝、自分で同じようにセッ トできないなら、意味がないからです。こんな経験ありませんか？ ここまで断言されると、鼻持ちならない奴なのかと思われるかもしれ ませんが、一切広告宣伝することなく口コミのみで経営が成り立って いるのだから、やはり腕は本物だな〜と思うのです。 しかも破格の価格なので、良心的でもあります。 もう少し宣伝してもいいのではないかな〜？もったいないな〜、と私 が勝手に思うこともありますが、これだけブランディングが出来上が り、信念を持って鋏を握っているのだから、余計な心配かもしれませ ん。 そして髪を切った翌日、会社に行くと、同僚から好意的な反応があり ました。 しかし、上機嫌の私に、「かわいらしくなったね、わかめちゃんみた いだけど。」と言った男性社員がいました。 言われてみれば・・・確かにわかめちゃんです。私のリクエストは、 「井上和香さんにしてください」だったのですが・・・＾＾； Maxの出版記念イベントに来られる方、ビッグゲストに混ざって、も れなく”わかめちゃん”にも会えますよ！ http://www.mebius-net.co.jp/party090621.html ”わかめちゃん”は、ともかくとして、読者の方々と一緒にMaxのお 祝いができることを楽しみにしています！ Kumiko ☆Kumikoの英語step by step☆ ＜know＞ 動詞"know"は、「知る、分かる」という意味ですね。 では、 Do you know Micheal Jackson? Do you know of Micheal Jackson? 上記の二つの疑問文は意味が違います。 分かりますか？ Do you know Micheal Jackson? （マイケル・ジャクソンと知り合いですか？） Do you know of Micheal Jackson? （マイケル・ジャクソンって知っていますか？） 前置詞"of"が付くと、目的語となる人物の存在について尋ねているこ とになります。 一方、前置詞が付かない場合は、面識があるか？という意味で尋ねて いるのです。 ですので、 A: Do you know Micheal Jackson? B: No, I don't. Do you? A: Yes. He is a world famouse singer.
